PRINCIPLES GOVERN THE WORLD
Principles govern life. These principles or laws are a given. We can work around them but we cannot break them at will. Rather, they will break us, if we flout them.
Nature’s principles are God’s truths that govern His creation and are sovereign, for “His Kingdom rules over all”.
The key points to note about life principles are:
1. They are sacrosanct. No one gets to make the rules but God Himself. And He “works all things according to the counsel of His own will.” Gospel
Yet, you retain the right to obey to your benefit, or disobey to your hurt. “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose… “
2. Principles have consequences and no one has any power over the consequences.
“Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he reap.”
3. To understand the principles may be helpful but not necessary.
“So is the Kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground… and the seed should spring and grow up, he knows not how.”
4. Principles apply across the board without discrimination.
“For He makes His sun to rise on the the evil and on the good…”
5. The highest principle in creation is love. For “Love never fails.” The Gospel
But what is love? In a world that confuses lust for love, here’s a quick recap from the Gospel:
“Love is patient.
Love is kind.
It does not envy.
It does not boast.
It is not proud.
It is not rude.
It is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered.
It keeps no account of wrongs.
Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things…
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love. “For God is Love.”
Lust is satan, the opposer of Love. Lust may mimic love, but it is not the same. They may look the same to man but God, who looks on the ‘inside’, sees through:
“If I give all I possess to the poor and exult in the surrender of my body, but have not love (God), I gain nothing.” The Gospel
This should be a sobering thought for those who think they are ‘good’ enough and can enter into the ‘Kingdom of God’ on their own merit. They have chosen to grade themselves on an exam they did not set!
Man’s best, in the flesh, is less than God’s least requirement for the ‘Kingdom within’.
